Sean Franklin, Founder

Nearly a decade of interviewing people for a living.

That's the skill underneath everything here. Sean spent the first chapter of his career as a television reporter — chasing deadlines, sitting with people on the worst and best days of their lives, and learning that a well-told story is the shortest distance between two strangers.

On the job as a television reporter.

Thousands of interviews later, the most valuable thing he does isn't operating a camera. It's calming a nervous business owner, asking the question that unlocks the real answer, and coaching people who swore they hated being on camera into becoming the face of their business.

He started The Shepherd Creative because the businesses he admired most were struggling with the same problem: they were doing good work. The problem was, not enough people were hearing about it.

Today he leads every engagement personally. That means the interviews and creative direction, and also the websites, dashboards, and quiet automations that make a growing business easier to run. Because once you understand a business well enough, you stop being able to ignore the bigger problems.

What we believe

Storytelling is a business tool.

Maybe the most powerful one. It shapes hiring, sales, referrals, culture, and what people say when your name comes up.

Trust is slow. So is good work.

We measure success in years of partnership, not deliverables per quarter.

Small crews, big presence.

We show up small on set on purpose. It lets the people we're filming actually be themselves.

The burden should sit with us.

Our job is to make marketing easier — not by pretending it's easy, but by owning the hard parts so they stop living on the owner's desk.

The best marketing doesn't feel like marketing.

It feels like a story you happened to be told by someone you already respect.
